OverviewThank you for your interest in the Design Thinking and Innovation AI Course Assistant bot. We hope the following questions will answer some questions you may have around interacting with the bot. If you have a question that is not answered here, please contact us through the Support Portal. |
— Where can I find the Course Assistant? —Once the course starts, you will be able to access the Course Assistant by logging into the Course Platform. You will see your profile picture in the top right-hand corner of your screen. Clicking on your picture will open a menu with an item titled “AI Course Assistant.” Selecting this option will cause the AI Course Assistant bot to open in a new browser tab. You may be asked to log into your HBS Online account and will be redirected to the bot. You are now ready to begin typing your question! Alternatively, the bot can be accessed directly at dti.dtxchat.org (please note the Course Assistant will be accessible once the course starts). |
— What kind of questions can I ask the Course Assistant? —You can think of the beta version of the Design Thinking and Innovation AI Course Assistant in two ways: like a virtual Teaching Assistant (TA) who can help you consolidate and confirm your understanding of course concepts, and as a virtual Learner Success Assistant who can help you stay on track with completing the coursework in a timely fashion. When you are finding a particular concept difficult to master, or would like additional examples of a theory, try asking the bot your question in the same way you would phrase it to a human TA. If you have a question pertaining to where or how to submit certain assistants, or one relating to deadlines or time estimates, you can also express those in a similar fashion. |
— What are the limitations of the Course Assistant? —While the beta version of the Design Thinking and Innovation AI Course Assistant bot strives to support your academic and administrative queries, it is in beta form, and as such its responses should be viewed in that context. The bot has not been trained to accurately reiterate or interpret HBS Online’s policies or terms of use. You are therefore encouraged to consult those resources directly, as well as your course’s Certificate of Completion Requirements for accurate information on those topics. Lastly, if you are experiencing a personal hardship or other challenge that may impact your ability to complete the course requirements to deadline, please contact us through the Support Portal for a personalized response from our human team. |
— Is it required that I interact with the Course Assistant? or In what ways can I engage with the Course Assistant? —While we built the Design Thinking and Innovation AI Course Assistant bot to support and enhance your course experience, there is no obligation to interact with the bot at any time. That said, we would be delighted for you to engage with it in its beta form, and your candid feedback will enable us to continue to improve the tool to benefit future cohorts of learners. |
— Can I view my chat history? —At this time, end users (learners) will be unable to access their chat history beyond the thread in which they are currently typing. |
— Who sees the questions I ask or the feedback I leave the Course Assistant? —No other learners in your cohort will be able to view the questions you ask, or feedback you provide, the Course Assistant. Both the questions you ask and the feedback you provide will be stored by HBS Online and may be used to improve the functionality of the Course Assistant for future cohorts of learners. |
— Could the Course Assistant provide inaccurate information? —While the HBS Online team has strived to develop an enjoyable and useful beta Course Assistant, please keep in mind that the tool is in beta version, and as such – and like many generative AI products today - could provide inaccurate information. Please evaluate bot responses using your good human judgment and, if you have a question or concern about the accuracy of the response you’ve been provided, please use the “Thumbs Down” button and “Leave Feedback” under the message to provide feedback directly to the HBSO team. You can also share your feedback in the survey instruments that appear at the end of certain course modules as well as at the end of the course. Lastly, as mentioned above, if you are experiencing a personal hardship or other challenge that may impact your ability to complete the course requirements to deadline, please contact us through the Support Portal for a personalized response from our human team. |
— What do I do if I'm unsure about an answer? —If you have a question or concern about the accuracy of the response you’ve been provided, please use the “Thumbs Down” button and “Leave Feedback” under the message to provide feedback directly to the HBSO team. You can share your feedback in the survey instruments that appear at the end of certain course modules as well as at the end of the course.
