Adobe Data-Driven Operating Model Simulation Instructions

Digital Marketing Strategy

Overview

The budget allocation simulation (Adobe Data-Driven Operating Model Simulation) is part of module 6 of the course. It is similar to a mini capstone experience, in that it encourages participants to draw on their knowledge from the rest of the course to make investment decisions in the simulation. We recommend budgeting approximately 1.5 hours to complete the simulation.

At the end of module 6, you will complete the budget allocation simulation that will take you to a webpage outside of the HBS Online course platform. After completing the simulation exercise, you will return to the HBS platform to answer some final questions.

Instructions

1. Prepare and Strategize

Before you start, read the simulation worksheet/guide carefully and think about your budget allocation strategy.

2. Complete the Simulation

Give yourself 60-90 minutes to complete the simulation. As you go through the exercise, pause and reflect on why you were able to meet or not meet your goals for a quarter, and what you should do differently in the next quarter.

  • If you need to leave the simulation page, it will save your progress.
  • Make sure that you only have one instance of the simulation open at any time.
  • If you experience a technical issue with the simulation, you can select “Reset” which will reset the entire simulation. Barring any technical issues, however, it is our intention that you go through the simulation only once, even if you find it challenging.
