Learning Path Tool (LPT) Information

Organizational Leadership

LPT General Information

The LPT is a 360-degree evaluation developed at Harvard Business School to provide leaders with insights into key areas of competence essential for effective leadership. You’ll be asked to complete a self-evaluation and also solicit evaluations from colleagues, such as direct reports, clients, or supervisors. The goal of the evaluation, and one of Organizational Leadership's primary learning objectives, is to help participants gain greater self-awareness and insight into how peers and direct reports experience them along certain dimensions as well as how to adjust behavior along those dimensions for desired outcomes.

As part of Module 1, you will complete a self-assessment and solicit feedback from colleagues for the 360-degree LPT assessment. Before you begin the process of soliciting evaluations from colleagues or completing your self-assessment, please complete the page in Module 1 titled, “Learning Path Tool Assessment.” That page will provide background on the value of the Learning Path Tool and offer recommendations for who you should request feedback from within your organization.

To complete the LPT—you will need to complete your self-evaluation and obtain ratings from at least two colleagues (and ideally at least six) prior to 11:59 p.m. ET on the due date indicated in your course calendar. After the reports are processed, you will receive a detailed report that provides insight into your leadership and how others assess you.
